Sundays are a special time at LCF. Every week at 10:00 a.m. we gather together as a church family to lift up songs of praise to God and to be taught through biblical teaching. We use contemporary music styles and some of the newest worship music available in our Worship. This is definitely not your T.V. version of Church. We aim to create an environment that lends to people experiencing God in a way that leads to personal life-transformation. Though we engage people actively and encourage participation we equally strive to create a safe place for all, especially those who are still exploring their spirituality.
Some commonly asked questions!
Why do some people raise their hands when they sing?
- We are a pentecostal church and as such we value the dynamic presence of the Holy Spirit in our midst and see no reason to not allow it to affect our whole person. We feel free to engage our emotional self as freely as our intellectual self. That’s also why we clap hands and sometimes shout out, “Amen.” Raising hands is an emotional response to the love we feel from God and it signifies adoration, vulnerability, surrender, excitement, etc..
Why do you ask for money every service?
- Our relationship with God affects every part of our lives. We don’t segregate our lives and suggest that God has a say in only some aspects. We believe that God is not only responsible for every good thing we have received, but he is also the rightful owner of all things. We practice the regular practice of giving back to God a portion of that which he has so graciously blessed us (sometimes called the “Tithe”). We also give out of a spirit of generosity that grips the heart of those who get to know God.
