Superstar Leadership Plan
By dstebeck on Jan 6, 2010 in Uncategorized
In light of Pastor Mike’s departure from us at the end of 2009, we have put together a leadership team for the interim period until we hire someone new. It is anticipated that we will once again have a part time person directing the various areas of children’s ministry within LCF but that finding the right person might take some time.
Our goal is to build on the wonderful foundation which Pastor Mike helped to frame and to increase our effectiveness at helping children shine! To integrate quality Christian education with positive experiences for kids of every age.
Preteens – the Friday night fellowship group – will move permanently out of the Superstar Ministry and under the banner of the LCF Youth Ministries. Pastor Gab has a vision to encourage and excite these jr. youth for the Lord.
We have been able to find LCF members who were willing to step up to the plate and take on the areas that Pastor Mike was covering. Their efforts will be supported by the addition of Lisa Stebeck as the volunteer Superstar Ministries Administrator. Lisa has many years experience in leadership of Children’s ministry and holds a degree in Religious Education. She is currently working for the church’s daycare in the afternoons and though she won’t be holding down ‘office hours’ she will checking in the office every day. Her direct e-mail is ‘lisa@stebeckcentral.ca’ and her phone is 604 765-3610.
Key to the transitional leadership is the increased input and energy of our zone leaders. Jenny Buffaloe will take over as the Power/Venture Zone coordinator. Lynette Beutel will continue to oversee the kidzone but will also begin supervising the totzone teams as well. Michelle Griffith continues to coordinate the babyzone. Lisa and these three coordinators will meet monthly and jointly share the responsibility for key decisions and mutual support.
Kim Vincent continues to give leadership to our Wee College but will receive support from Lisa as needed.
We will also begin seeking for some leadership from our Bible College in the way of student interns. Â We will work hard to have an intern on staff through the summer to help facilitate Big Bar Lake Camp and our Superstar outreach week.
For the last number of years, Lily-mae Keldson has also been a key leader in our Superstar ministry and as is currently working to move to London, England to begin a new role in ministry with NLI. Here role in leadership with our kids ministry is therefore being phased out. An appropriate expression of gratitude for her ministry will be extended in conjunction with her send-off to NLI.
Please pray along with us that God will help us find the right person for the job to join our staff.
Yours truly,
Pastor Danny Stebeck
